CNC Machining Surface Finishes
Surface finishing changes the appearance, corrosion resistance and function of a machined part. We evaluate every finish against the material, drawing, color, film thickness, roughness and acceptance criteria before production.

Matching Finishes to Requirements
Not every finish suits every material. A finish that works on aluminum may not apply to stainless, brass or plastic. We confirm process, color and film thickness with your drawing and specification.
Where a required finish is outside our direct capability, we assess feasibility with trusted partners before committing — we do not promise processes we cannot deliver.

Anodizing
Surface appearance: Matte to semi-gloss oxide layer, available in natural (clear) or colored finishes.
Primary function: Corrosion resistance and decorative appearance for aluminum parts.
Common material limits: Primarily for aluminum alloys; not applicable to steel, brass or plastics.
Effect on dimension / thickness / roughness: Adds a thin, controlled oxide film that slightly increases overall dimensions; thicker coatings reduce exposed tolerance. Roughness depends on the base surface.
Project confirmation: Color, film thickness (e.g. Type II / Type III class), masking of features and acceptance standard are confirmed against your drawing.

Surface appearance: Uniform matte, satin-like finish that softens visible tool marks.
Primary function: Cosmetic consistency and preparation for further finishing or coating.
Common material limits: Applicable to most metals; effect and media choice vary by material and geometry.
Effect on dimension / thickness / roughness: Minimal material removal; mainly affects surface texture rather than size. Very fine features may be affected and are reviewed case by case.
Project confirmation: Grit/media size, coverage and accepted roughness range are confirmed with your requirement.
Request Bead Blasting QuotePolishing
Surface appearance: Smooth, bright or mirror-like finish depending on grade.
Primary function: Cosmetic refinement and low-friction contact surfaces.
Common material limits: Suitable for many metals; achievable gloss depends on base material and hardness.
Effect on dimension / thickness / roughness: Removes material to lower roughness; can affect tight tolerances and fine edges, so critical dimensions are protected or re-machined after polishing.
Project confirmation: Target roughness (e.g. Ra value) and whether tolerances must be held after polishing are confirmed with your drawing.
Request Polishing QuotePassivation
Surface appearance: Clean, near-metallic look with no significant color change.
Primary function: Enhances the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steel by removing free iron and forming a passive oxide layer.
Common material limits: For stainless steel grades; not a coating and not applicable to carbon steel or aluminum.
Effect on dimension / thickness / roughness: Negligible dimensional change; primarily a chemical surface treatment. Roughness is essentially unchanged.
Project confirmation: Process standard and any post-treatment requirements are confirmed with your specification.
Request Passivation QuotePowder Coating
Surface appearance: Durable, even colored layer in a wide range of colors and gloss levels.
Primary function: Corrosion and wear protection plus decorative finish for visible assemblies.
Common material limits: Typically for metals able to withstand the curing temperature; part size and geometry must fit the coating process.
Effect on dimension / thickness / roughness: Adds a measurable coating thickness that can affect fits and tapped holes; masking and threading strategy are planned in advance.
Project confirmation: Color, gloss, film thickness and masking areas are confirmed against your drawing and acceptance criteria.
Request Powder Coating QuotePlating
Surface appearance: Metallic layer (e.g. zinc, nickel) with a range of brightness and tone.
Primary function: Corrosion resistance, wear resistance, solderability or electrical conductivity depending on plating type.
Common material limits: Varies by base material and plating chemistry; not all combinations are feasible and are confirmed per project.
Effect on dimension / thickness / roughness: Adds a controlled thickness that can affect tight tolerances and threads; minimum/maximum thickness is specified per standard.
Project confirmation: Plating type, thickness, class and any salt-spray or functional requirement are confirmed with your drawing.
